Seven men who attempted to break into a warehouse in Guayaguayare on Monday 26th October 2020, were quickly picked up by Eastern Division Police after their failed attempt.
According to an official release from the TTPS, a man reported to police that around 12:20 am on Monday, he received information that several persons were attempting to break into his warehouse located at Calamatas Village, Guayaguayare.
Officers of the Mayaro Criminal Investigations Department and the Eastern Division Task Force responded to the report.
Shortly after, officers intercepted a blue Isuzu pickup truck with two male suspects. They also intercepted a silver coloured Nissan Wingroad wagon with five male suspects.
A search of both vehicles was conducted, which resulted in the discovery of a fraudulent certificate of insurance for the pick-up truck and several housebreaking implements in the wagon.
The suspects, aged 24 to 37 years, all of North Post Road, Diego Martin, were arrested in connection with the finds.
Assistance was sought from officers of the Eastern Division Emergency Response Patrol and the suspects were taken to the Mayaro Police Station.
