The Ministry of Health yesterday reported a total of 97 persons had tested positive for COVID-19.
In its latest update at 6 pm, it noted that 18,632 samples had been tested by CARPHA and 864 samples had tested positive at public and private facilities in Trinidad and Tobago. Of that number 690 are active cases, with 162 persons having been discharged.
In its first update yesterday morning, the Ministry advised that 39 additional persons had tested positive, and in the 6 pm update it advised that 58 more persons had tested positive.
With the growing number of cases, the Ministry is advising citizens to follow the required guidelines:
Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when you go out in public;
Keep your distance from others (6 feet);
Stay home if you are ill;
Clean then sanitize surfaces (e.g. tabletops, doorknobs and cell phones);
Wash your hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer;
Cough into a tissue or into the crook of your elbow;
and avoid touching your face.
