A body was found in a burnt out car in Caroni on Monday.

According to a police report, at about 3:55 pm yesterday, first responders PC Arthur and PC Kerr responded to a report of the discovery of a burnt out vehicle at Trantrail Ext., St. Augustine.  

Police said the car was completely destroyed by the fire and a body, which was burnt beyond recognition, was found in it.

Police said the gender could not immediately be determined, as the body was burnt down to its bones.

The remains were removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James, for further examination.

Officers from the TTPS’ Homicide Investigations Bureau (Region III) are continuing enquiries.
