The Chaguanas Borough Corporation (CBC) will continue sanitation activities to deal with the COVID-19 virus.
Mayor Vandana Mohit told Guardian Media, “We at the CBC have been putting pre-cautionary measures in place during the course of this week due to the warnings of COVID-19. The continuous sanitisation of our facility due to the high influx of persons on a daily basis have been taking place as well as protecting our points of contact within our organisation. In addition, we are continuing our education via social media based on our official bulletins from Ministry of Health advising our burgesses on the the precautionary measures on the COVID-19 as much as we can.”
Also speaking with Guardian Media Imam Rasheed Karim, of the Felicity based Ummah TT The Muslim Federation, said his organisation is planning to host a health fair at the end of this month.
Karim said the Islamic community would continued to be guided by the health authorities as to how it shall proceed to contain the virus. Karim said there are guidelines on dealing with outbreaks of diseases as set in the Holy Qur’an.
He said Muslims are ready to assist in whatever ways they can.
