Chaguanas West MP Dinesh Rambally is gathering information on crime in Central Trinidad and has called on victims and concerned citizens to send him their views, experiences and comments on crime.
A release from his office said the initiative, which the MP is spearheading, is aimed at preparing a document detailing public opinion which will act as a catalyst to implement effective measures against crime.
Rambally, an attorney-at-law, according to the release, is responding to calls for a frank discussion on the scourge of criminal activity rampant throughout Trinidad and Tobago highlighted by a spate of violent attacks on women.
The MP, who is gathering the information during the COVID-19 pandemic has invited submissions during the window of March 16 to April 16.
The Opposition United National Congress MP promised that all submissions in the consultation will be collated into a comprehensive position paper which will be followed up by a discussion forum to gather further feedback on crime.
