Coast Guard officers on patrol off Los Iros Bay found two crocus bags containing $.7 million worth of marijuana floating in the sea on Wednesday.
Inquiries are continuing into the possible source of the narcotics. No arrests were made. The discovery was made around 2.30 pm.
According to a report, Coast Guard vessel CG25 was patrolling the coast when the officers spotted two crocus bags floating near the vessel. The drugs were taken to the Coast Guard base in Cedros and the police were contacted.
A party of officers from the Cedros Police Station headed by Sgt Starr Jacob responded and investigations are continuing.
