Investigations are ongoing into a shooting that occurred on the Tacarigua compound of the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) yesterday..
According to a police report, over 30 spent shells were recovered on the scene.
The report said at about 7.30 am three men entered the compound in a white vehicle and several gunshors were heard.
Police said a white Nissan Tiida was riddled with bullets.
No one was injured.
Guardian Media was told by police sources that the gunmen followed an employee to the compound who claimed “has been marked for death for a long time. “
“Word is when they started shooting at him as he drove into the compound this morning he ran out of his car and ran through offices as the gunmen fired indiscriminately,” police sources also claimed.
A released issued by the utility’s Corporate Communications Unit confirmed that there was an incident at its D’Abadie/Tacarigua aea office located at Balisier Avenue, Macoya, where gun shots were fired at a vehicle “owned by an employee.”
“Preliminary investigations indicate the situation appears to be associated with issues outside of the workplace. No one was injured during the incident and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is currently conducting investigations,” the release stated
