RHONDOR DOWLAT-ROSTANT

A quick run for doubles turned deadly for a 40-year-old Arima man who was shot dead on Wednesday December 29th, in Arima.

The victim has been identified as Ryan Pitt.

Police said the victim left his home at about 5:30 pm on Wednesday to purchase doubles.  While driving his panel van along La Retreat Road, Heights of Guanapo, Arima, a white Nissan AD Wagon reportedly blocked the van. Two of its occupants alighted the wagon and opened fire on Pitt’s vehicle.

Passers-by called Members of the Northern Division Task Force East to the scene.  However, by the time the police officers arrived, Pitt was already dead.

His body was viewed by the District Medical Officer who ordered the body to be removed to the Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy.

Pitt’s murder has brought the murder count to 450.
