A Debe man who was hit by a car on Tuesday night in San Fernando has succumbed to his injuries.

He has been identified as Barry Assam, 53, also called ‘Jaws’.

The incident took place around 8 pm at Diamond Village near Priam Street.

Police said Assam was crossing the road towards a car that had stopped on the left lane. The car’s left indicator was on.

Residents put Assam in the tray of a pickup van and rushed him to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was being treated, while listed in a critical condition.
