The decomposing body of an unidentified man was discovered floating at the river mouth in Sea Lots on Saturday morning.
Police said around 10:30 am officers of the Besson Street Police Station got a call about the body.
They responded and found the decomposing body of a man clad in a yellow jersey and black pants.
Inquiries are continuing to determine the identity of the man and how he died.
