Police were up to late yesterday trying to identify the body of a man, found dismembered, in a bag over a precipice in Petit Valley.

Police said residents of Cameron Road made the discovery about 12.30 pm and called them.

Officers went to the area.

Police said although there is a name that went viral on social media as to who the victim might be they are still to confirm the identity but is currently reviewing a list of missing people in the area in a bid to try to identify the victim.

A close relative of the man being named on social media posted that they are yet to view the body. “My family hasn’t viewed the body yet to confirm if it is my father. Until his children or a member of the family is notified with such information this is false.”

Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations are assisting with enquiries.

Man murdered in Laventille,

Investigations are continuing into the murder of a man in Laventille, an unidentified body found wrapped in a sheet in Morvant and the decomposed body of a woman found in Malick, Barataria, within a five- hour period on Sunday.

According to a police report, at about 7.30 pm Kyle Primus, 29, was shot several outside his home at Mapps Lands, Laventille, Sapodilla Trace.

His brother, who was inside the house heard the shots, ran out and found find his brother bleeding from gunshot wounds to the head .

He died on the scene. A motive is yet to be established for the killing.

In a separate incident, the decomposing body of 29-year-old Samantha Williams, of Basement Extension, Upper 7th Avenue, Malick, Barataria was found.

Police said at about 4.55 pm Williams’ brother went to her home to check on her but was taken aback by a strong foul stench emanating from inside the house.

He said he had last seen his sister in April and had decided to go look for her.

Williams’ brother said he entered and upon approaching the bedroom area he found Williams’ body. The body, which was well in an advanced state of decomposition, was clad in a white night gown.

Police said the interior of the home of the deceased appeared to be intact with no signs of forced entry.

Earlier in the day, in an unrelated incident, at about 2.15 pm the Morvant Police Station received a call from the Crime Stoppers, with a report of a body wrapped in a sheet in a drain off Angeline Street, Morvant.

On arrival the first responders found a body of a man with, corn row hairstyle, dark brown

in complexion, medium built, bareback, clad in a dark coloured 3/4 jeans, boxers and one side of black Air Force One Nike sneaker on the left foot, with wounds to the throat in an advanced state of decomposition.

The body was wrapped in a grey coloured sheet and a blue coloured sheet with a floral design and plastic wrap.
