A 32-year-old customs clerk and a 79-year-old man were tied up and robbed during a home invasion in Chase Village.

According to a police report, at about 6:25 am on Monday the elderly man was on the lower floor of his two storey home located along the Old Southern Main Road, in the company of the customs clerk when they were accosted by two men, one of whom was armed with a gun.

Police said they were told the gunman pointed the gun at the old man and announced a hold-up and then proceeded to tie the hands of both victims.

The other suspect then ransacked the premises. He robbed the customs clerk of his Samsung A20 cell phone valued $2,300 and his Samsung Galaxy cell phone valued $2,800.

The suspects then robbed the elderly man of his Samsung A20 cell phone valued $2,300 and his Samsung A50 cell phone valued $2,500, one (1) Samsung 42” led television valued $3,000, $200 cash, one DVR recorder valued $1,200 and an undisclosed sum of old hundred dollar notes.

One of the suspects then left driving the elderly man’s silver colour BMW 520i motor vehicle, registration number PDA5995 valued at $200,000 heading north along Southern Main Road, Chase Village while the other suspect was picked up by a white Nissan Tiida and proceeded in the same direction.

Police said entry was gained via the opened front gate on the eastern side of the lower floor of the house and exit via point of entry.
