Another COVID-19 death has been recorded in the country bringing the death toll up to 111.

The Ministry of Health’s update said the recent death was an elderly female with pre-existing conditions. The ministry also, for the second consecutive day, confirmed 10 new COVID-19 infections. However, its update noted that these new cases were from samples collected between November 2 and 4 and not within the previous 24-hours.

The new infections bring the total number of people to be infected with the virus locally since the first case was recorded on March 12 up to 5,774.

The number of active cases also decreased after 31 people were released from the ministry’s care; four were discharged from public health facilities while 37 were released from home self-isolation as recovered community cases. The total number of active cases now stands at 639.
