As COVID-19 cases climb across the country, news of fatal accidents, violence, and Tobago House of Assembly impasse preventing the Assembly from being fully constituted, many have been struggling to lead normal lives.
This past week, one of Tobago’s Assemblymen, Farley Agustine, from Speyside, seemed to put aside the negativity, proposing to his girlfriend, Takyana Nedd, on Thursday at the Ohana Villa, Bacolet.
The poolside’s walkway was lined with vases full of white flowers, and at the end of the deck, Augustine got down on one knee and proposed. The couple posed for photos after the event.
The news has been trending on social media ever since.
With the help of wedding planner Asha Mars Weddings and Events Planner, the Progressive Democratic Patriots deputy leader made a romantic, movie-like marriage proposal at a poolside decked with white roses in vases, following COVID-19 protocols.
Augustine won the Speyside/ Parlatuvier/ L’anse Fourmi seat in the THA elections in 2017, then again on January 25, 2021. Before that, he taught at Speyside High school.
And of course, Nedd said yes to the all-important question, “Will you marry me.”
The couple is yet to announce a date for the nuptials, which many in Tobago are already anticipating.
