Gun and ammunition found and seized by police in Point Fortin

One man was arrested for possession of a quantity of marijuana and a firearm and ammunition were found in a bushy area in Point Fortin during an exercise on Wednesday.

According to the police service, the anti-crime exercise was co-ordinated by Snr Supt Cooper, ASPs Ramphall, Ramdeen, and Abbot and also included Sgt Ali, PC Boodoo and officers of the Point Fortin Criminal Investigation Department, South Western Division Task Force (SWDTF) and Canine Unit.

Officers went to Bryce Road, Point Fortin, searched a house and found 145 grams of marijuana.

Police said a 55-year-old occupant of the house was arrested for the find.

Also based on information received officers found one revolver and six rounds of .38 ammunition in a bushy area near Reid Road, Point Fortin.
