Police are searching for two gunmen who shot and killed a 38-year-old man from Morvant as he made his way to work on Tuesday morning.

Police reports said Adisa Wiliams, was on his way to work at the St Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital where he was employed as a handyman.

Officers said around 4:30 am on Tuesday they received an anonymous call at the Morvant Police Station, that a man was observed lying dead in the roadway along Mon Repos Road, Morvant in the vicinity of Savage Hill.

When police arrived they saw Williams, who was shot several times about the upper body.

Upon investigating police learnt that Williams left home around 4 am in the company of his girlfriend for work. They were walking south along the Mon Repos Road when on reaching Savage Hill, a gunman dressed in all black emerged from behind a nearby concrete wall and fired one shot in their direction.

Police officers were told Williams attempted to run away but another gunman emerged from the compound of a nearby business and fired several shots at Williams, who fell to the ground.

Both gunmen then stood over Williams and fired several more shots.

Police said one of the gunmen then pointed his firearm at Williams’ girlfriend but she sought cover by jumping in some bushes where she hid until the police arrived.

The gunmen fled.
