A “young adult male without comorbidities” was among eight COVID-19 fatalities yesterday bringing the pandemic’s death toll locally to 1,376.
The other fatalities were three elderly males and two elderly females with comorbidities. There were also one elderly female and a middle-aged male without comorbidities to succumb to the disease.
The Ministry of Health also confirmed 135 new cases from samples collected between September 8 to 11.
Active cases dropped to 3,910 after 160 people were released from under the ministry’s care; 130 were released from home self-isolation as recovered community cases while 30 people were discharged from public health facilities.
A total of 544,602 people received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine up to yesterday with 441,540 of them completing their vaccination regime. This makes around 31.5 per cent of the country’s population to be fully vaccinated.
