A homeless man is scheduled to go before a Chaguanas Magistrate next week for sentencing, after being found guilty of larceny.
The Police Service confirms that DARRYL FRANCOIS pleaded guilty to larceny when he appeared before a Chaguanas Magistrate on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021.
According to reports, on Sunday 28th February 2021, officers of the Chaguanas Police Station responded to a report of burglary in progress at the offices of Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), located at De Verteuil Street, Chaguanas.
A TTPS statement says when police officers arrived, they discovered a hole in a metallic door situated on the eastern side of the building. A further search of the building was conducted, and a man was discovered hiding inside with a brown cardboard box.
The officers searched the box and discovered one uninterrupted power supply unit (valued at TT$1,200), and one fan tray (valued at US$500).
The suspect, who was later identified as DARRYL FRANCOIS, an unemployed man of no fixed place of abode, was arrested and taken to the Chaguanas Police Station where he was subsequently charged with the offence.
He is expected to be sentenced on March 10th, 2021.
