Former Independent Liberal Party leader Jack Warner, who’s recovering from COVID-19, says he’ll be home soon.
And former United National Congress MP Dr Tim Gopeesingh also says he’s back to normal after being recently hospitalised with the virus.
Both spoke yesterday in brief exchanges with the T&T Guardian, who’d wished them speedy recoveries.
Warner, 77, was hospitalised on Tuesday for treatment for the virus. He was initially tested for the virus last week but results were negative. However, he began feeling unwell subsequently and did another test which proved positive.
Warner’s communications team had said on Thursday that he was on the mend, recovering and was up at the hospital where he was being treated. Warner hadn’t answered text messages earlier that day. But yesterday, he replied to T&T Guardian, saying, “Will be home soon.”
Gopeesingh was released from the hospital recently after being treated for the virus.
He said yesterday, “I am back to normal. Completed my home quarantine on Wednesday. Feeling strong again.”
