33-year-old Dillon Nassy, alias ‘Dan’ was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition. He was denied bail and remanded into custody. Details follow in this press release from the TTPS:
A 33-year-old La Horquetta man who pleaded not guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition, was denied bail and remanded into custody yesterday.
DILLON NASSY, alias ‘Dan’, of Derek Walcott Crescent, Phase 1 appeared virtually before Magistrate Debbie Ann Bassow at the Arima Magistrates’ Court where she gave her ruling. On Sunday 3rd October, 2021, officers of the Arima Municipal Police were conducting an anti-crime exercise in Area East of the Northern Division when, upon seeing the officers, a man began to run away. The officers gave chase and apprehended the man a short distance away. A search was conducted of his person and a firearm with a magazine containing 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition was found.
The man was arrested and taken to the Arima Municipal Police Station where he was charged with the offences by PC Pitt of the Street Patrol Unit. He is to reappear before the court on the 1st of November, 2021.
