Police officers from Tobago Division journeyed to sister isle Trinidad where they held two men from Laventille in connection with a spate of robberies that occurred in Tobago in recent weeks.
Police reports revealed the men, a 35-year-old of Mango Alley, Trou Macaque Road, Laventille, and a 24-year-old of Old St Joseph Road, Laventille, were arrested during an Operation Strikeback exercise executed Tuesday night.
The arrests came as detectives assigned to the Tobago Division Criminal Investigations Department (CID) were tracking two cell phones which were reported stolen on March 6 from two victims in Tobago.
Tobago CID officers journeyed to Trinidad, and with the assistance of the Port-of-Spain Divisional Task Force, located the suspects who were both found in possession of the stolen cell phones on Tuesday.
Police said the duo is also being questioned by Tobago CID personnel at the Besson Street Police Station and are expected to be charged later this week.
The investigation is being headed by Sgt. Wilson and PC Mc Cain of the Tobago CID.
