Many bathers at Maracas beach today felt unsafe as there were no lifeguards on duty. In Fact, some people opted not to bathe at all. Lifeguards stayed away from work at popular beaches this weekend and the Union Secretary representing lifeguards told CNC3 News it’s because they are understaffed and have been asking for more manpower for years. Something beachgoers told cameraman Gary Vincent and Reporter Carisa Lee, The Ministry of National Security should rectify as soon as possible.
