A 47-year-old tile layer was ordered not to have any contact with a 12-year-old girl when he appeared before the Tunapuna Magistrates’ Court charged with one count of sexual touching, on Tuesday 1 March 2022.

During the virtual hearing, the accused also was ordered to report to his local police station weekly, as part of his $75,000 bail conditions granted by Magistrate Debby Ann Bassaw.

The matter was adjourned to March 21st, 2022.

According to police reports, on Saturday19th February 2022, a girl was at her home when a man allegedly touched her inappropriately.

The matter was referred to the Child Protection Unit (CPU) / Northern Division, and an investigation was conducted by WPC Stephen.

The accused subsequently was arrested and charged for the offences on February 27th.

The investigation was spearheaded by W/Superintendent of Police (Ag.) Claire Guy–Alleyne, ASP Roberts, Inspector Davidson, and Sgt. Mohammed of the CPU.
