A 20-year-old man, who was abducted on Saturday night by men pretending to be police officers has been released and is back home with his family.

The victim, however, is expected to give police a detailed report on what happened to him and the circumstances surrounding his released.

According to a police report, at about 8.10 pm, the victim was liming with a 34-year-old man from LP8 Siewnarine Street, Kelly Village when the incident occurred.

Police said they were both standing on the road when a white Suzuki Grand Vitara along with another vehicle pulled up alongside them. About six men exited, all dressed in dark clothing with masks covering their faces.

They were armed with firearms. The men claimed they were police officers and ordered the 20-year-old into one of the vehicles and drove off.

Police said at about 5.20 am yesterday, the man was released.

The victim was described by police as a man of African descent, five-feet-eight-inches tall, of dark brown complexion, heavily built and sporting a Rastafarian hairstyle with the ends blonde.

A motive is yet to be established.
