A magistrate has ordered a Moruga man to stay 500 feet away from
a 14-year-old girl whom he has been accused of sexually molesting.
The 25-year-old accused appeared virtually before in the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court charged with sexual penetration of a minor.
He will reappear in the same court on January 6, 2021.
A police report said on November 5, the girl, in company of her mother, made a report to Southern Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) officers that during the period February 2019 to August 2020, a friend of her family allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Investigations conducted by acting Cpl Joseph of the CPU revealed
that the girl was sexually assaulted on several occasions by the
suspect.
The man was subsequently arrested and charged on December Tuesday
with seven counts of penetration of a child.
