A 51-year-old Valencia man has been charged with charged with one count of sexual penetration against a female minor.

The offence is alleged to have taken place in March 2019.

He was granted bail when he appeared before a Sangre Grande magistrate last week Friday.

The accused was ordered to stay away from the victim.

The victim reported to her mother that in March 2019, she was sexually assaulted by a man.

A report was made to the police and an investigation launched by officers of the Eastern Division Child Protection Unit (ED-CPU).

The man gave himself up to officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station last Friday and was charged on that same date by WPC La Fortune of the CPU.
