A 34 year old man, of no fixed place of abode, was granted $5,000 bail when he appeared before a Princes Town magistrate on Monday to answer charges of larceny of several farm animals and being found on lands where farm animals are kept.
Ancil Dookie, also called “Young Chick” was charged by PC Pattoo of the Praedial Larceny Squad with the offences.
A report from the Police Service said at around 11 pm on October 20, 2020, the owner of the animals was at his home at Cemetery Street, Princes Town, when he observed a man in his property.
The man raised an alarm and the intruder ran off.
On checking, the man observed two roosters, six white fowls, and two rabbits, with a total value of $1, 400, missing.
A report was made to the Praedial Larceny Squad. Officers visited the scene and based on information, a warrant was issued for Dookie.
He was arrested in the Princes Town district last week Sunday. He pleaded not guilty to both offences before a Princes Town magistrate and will reappear in court on May 25.
