A 51-year-old man from Malabar escaped death while at his home on Sunday night when a gunman opened fire at him.

According to a police report, at about 9 pm, the victim was at the corner of Roland Cleveland and Lennox Yearwood Expressway, when he heard his dog barking outside.

On venturing outside his home, the man saw several men standing near his vehicle—a Honda Civic, which was parked in the yard. The man allegedly shouted at the men and one of them whipped out a gun and opened fired at him. The gunman along with the rest of the group reportedly ran off.

The police were called to the area where they processed the scene and recovered two spent shells.

Investigations are continuing.
