Police are yet to identify the victim from Monday evening’s accident, who was fatally knocked down while attempting to cross the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in Aranguez.
According to a police report, at 7.28 pm a Nissan B15 was proceeding east along the highway near Kash Highway Bar, when it fatally struck a man dressed in a dark coloured clothing, who was attempting to cross the highway.
The 21-year-old driver was interviewed on the scene by a party of police officers who responded shortly after.
The vehicle was subsequently wrecked to the San Juan Sub Station pending further investigations. It received damage to the left side front bumper and windscreen. Police said the driver was uninjured.
Investigations are continuing.
