A Tunapuna man was scheduled to appear before a Tunapuna Magistrate yesterday charged with the 2019 murder of Shiloh Collingwood.
The police service said Marvin Williams Campbell also called ‘Minge’, 31, of Monte Grande, Tunapuna, was also charged with possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Monday.
Collingwood, 24, also of Monte Grande, Tunapuna, was at his home on November 22 2019, when he was approached by a lone gunman who shot at him several times.
The victim was hit about the body while the assailant ran off.
He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he died.
An investigation into the incident resulted in Campbell being arrested by officers of the Northern Division in the Tunapuna district, on Wednesday 22 January this year.
Investigations were supervised by ASP Sean Dhilpaul, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region 2, while Campbell was charged by PC Oliver, also of HBI Region 2.
And a Guayaguayare resident Kerwyn Garcia, 27 was scheduled to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate charged with the 2018 murder of Ronald Mohan.
He was charged with the offence following advice received from the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Honore-Paul, on Monday.
Mohan, 31, of St. Mary’s Village, Moruga, was found with a gunshot wound to his head on Saturday 21 April 2018, at Rochard Douglas Road, Barrackpore.
Following investigations into the incident, the accused was arrested on Wednesday 22 January this year.
Investigations were supervised by Insp. Darryl Coorie and Sgt. Randy Ramjag of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 3, while the accused was charged by WPC Janelle Ransome, also of HBI Region 3.
