A Morvant man was arrested after allegedly being held with a gun and ammunition by police yesterday.

According to police reports, officers attached to the North-Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF) were conducting a stop and search operation in Morvant when they were alerted to a report about a man armed with a gun.

NEDTF officers proceeded to Chaconia Avenue, Coconut Drive, Morvant, where they spotted a man who fitted the description of the suspect. The officers ordered the man to stop, and during a search, they allegedly found a Colt revolver with one round of .38 ammunition on him.

The man, also of Chaconia Avenue, Coconut Drive, Morvant, was immediately arrested in connection with the find and is currently assisting PC Villaroel, of the NEDTF, with investigations. He is expected to be charged later this week.
