The Ministry of Works and Transport has launched an Electronic Vehicle Inspection System (EVIS).

The ministry says “The vehicle inspection system allows for accountability, transparency, safety and data validation”. Mr Clive Clarke, Transport Commissioner of the Licensing Division shares some insight into the operations of the new Electronic Vehicle Inspection System (EVIS). Notable features of this new system include verification of vehicles using the Fixed Penalty Hand-Held devices and real-time receipt of inspection certificates.

The EVIS has software that remotely connects to the Licensing Division, providing access to accurate, real-time data. This new system forms part of the Licensing Division’s digital transformation with the integration of technology to improve the delivery of services for the inspection of vehicles.
