A 57-year-old female employee of the Ministry of National Security and two other persons were arrested by police with a cache of arms and ammunition and a quantity of drugs at a Marabella home.
Investigators say that officers from the Marabella CID Task Force, headed by Sgt Ifill and including Cpl Burke executed a search warrant at a home at St James Street in Marabella around 5 am yesterday.
When police raided the home the 57-year-old employee from the Ministry of National Security was apprehended along with a 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man.
Among the items police recovered were two high powered weapons—one AK-47 and one AR-15 and a Glock 22 handgun with an extended magazine and two single magazines. Police also found 144 rounds of assorted ammunition.
During the raid police also found 1.68kilogrammes of cocaine and 12 kilograms of marijuana with an estimated street value of close to half a million dollars.
The trio are expected to face multiple charges of possession of arms and ammunition as well as the possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking as well as the possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
