Nine persons are expected to appear before the Sangre Grande Magistrate Court today for breach of the Public Health Regulations.
According to police reports, during an exercise conducted in Sangre Grande between 10:30 am and 2 pm on May 9th. Sangre Grande police officers arrested nine persons after they were found congregating at a parlour along Quash Trace, Sangre Grande. The persons range in ages from 21 to 56 years old.
The nine persons were in breach of Section 3 (1) (b) which states “that persons shall not gather in any public place where the persons therein exceed five persons at a time.” During the exercise, one additional person was also arrested for littering and failure to wear a mask. A further seven Public Health Notices were issued.

The TTPS urges the members of the public to avoid unsafe practices and incurring unnecessary fines by adhering to the regulations.
