A 39-year-old man has been denied bail on two sex charges involving an 11-year-old girl.

The man appeared virtually before Magistrate Joanne Connor on Tuesday in the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of sexual penetration.

The accused, of Signal Hill, Tobago, was arrested after the girl reported that during the period January 2020 and April of that year, he had sexual intercourse with her.

The girl further reported that sometime between February 29, 2020 and April 1, 2020, the accused gave her alcohol.

WPC Clarke, of the Tobago Division Child Protection Unit (CPU), was detailed to investigate.

After investigations, Clarke arrested and charged the suspect with two counts of sexual penetration of a minor.

Investigations were supervised by acting Supt Claire Guy- Alleyne, acting ASP Roberts and Sgt Miller of the Child Protection Unit.
