Vendors operating along Charlotte Street, Port-of-Spain, will only be able to conduct business until 8 pm Saturday.
The directive is one of several decisions taken during last Wednesday’s monthly statutory meeting of the Port-of-Spain City Corporation.
In a release, officials advised there would be a “Temporary suspension of vending on Charlotte Street effective from Saturday 28th March at 8 pm until further notice.”
Officials stressed, “There will be NO vending of produce, clothing or haberdashery items on Charlotte street during this period.”
Other decisions include, “The Central Market Police will be manned on a 24-hour basis with the utilizing of four units and two shifts.”
The shifts include a 16-hour shift from 4 pm to 8 am, and an eight-hour shift from 8 am to 4 pm.
Officials urged the public to observe social distancing protocols as they go about their daily business.
