The North-West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) is urging persons who received their first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine at one of its vaccination sites between April 6th and 25th, 2021, and who have not yet been contacted to schedule their second dose appointment, to visit the Paddocks Area at the Queen’s Park Savannah, as soon as possible, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.

The call was made in an official advisory issued by the NWRHA this morning.

“The NWRHA takes this opportunity to remind our valued clients that the second dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine is currently being administered at the Paddocks Area, Queen’s Park Savannah ONLY,” the advisory states.

Citizens also are reminded by the Ministry of Health that to be considered fully vaccinated:

●   One must have received the required number of doses of a World Health Organisation (WHO) approved vaccine, bearing in mind that depending on the type of vaccine, one or two doses may be required.

●   Two weeks must have passed since one received the final recommended vaccine dose/doses.

The Ministry also notes that even people who are fully vaccinated should still follow the health guidelines—namely, wear a mask (covering the nose and mouth); watch your distance (keep six feet apart); and wash your hands (frequently)—to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Citizens are encouraged to check the Health Ministry’s social media pages for more COVID-19 information, as well as to visit the official website at www.health.gov.tt/covid19, or call 800-WELL (9355).
