The PDP plans to address Tobago’s lack of compressed natural gas (CNG) pumping stations for motorists.  CNG is available at the Cove Industrial Estate, however, the supply is distributed only to PTSC buses on the island. Motorists wishing to fill CNG in their vehicles have the choice of filling up whenever they are in Trinidad.

Head of the Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP), Watson Duke, told Guardian Media on Friday, Tobagonians have been disenfranchised for years because under the PNM’s rule, the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) failed to ensure that a CNG station was erected on the island. Duke said all this would change under the PDP:

“Our prospective Chief Secretary Farley Chavez Augustine would fix that,” the PDP leader said.

“He will ensure that the needs of Tobagionans are met, even the need for cleaner, cheaper fuel such as CNG. I assure you, we have already planned to ensure that Tobagonians are properly represented and treated equally with their counterparts, brothers and sisters in Trinidad,” Duke stated.

The elections for the Tobago House of Assembly are scheduled to take place on Monday 6th December 2021.
