Undertakers from K Allen’s Funeral Home prepare to remove the body of Myembe Blake, who was found with his throat slit off the North Bank Road, Piarco, yesterday evening.

Police are investigating two murders in Arima in which two men were killed.

In the first incident, a man who is said to be in his 20s was gunned down in a drive-by shooting yesterday afternoon.

He was identified as Brandon Atkins, 25, from Printery Road.

According to a police report, at about 1.20 pm he was found at the side of the road a white vehicle was seen fleeing the scene.

It is believed that Atkins was shot dead by occupants of the vehicle who drove past him and opened fire shooting him multiple times.

Atkins died on the scene.

Police said while they are yet to determine a motive for his murder.

They say, however, that he had been held several times for law-lawbreaking.

In the second incident, two days after the body of Kemraj Singh was discovered at his home in Piarco with stab wounds and slit throat, the body of his neighbour was found yesterday.

This victim has been identified as Muyembe Blake, 25, of 3B Road, off North Bank Road, Piarco.

According to a police report, at about 5 pm yesterday, officers received a report that Blake’s body had been found but in an advanced decomposition state.

Police said it appeared as though Blake’s throat was also slit. However, an autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.

Blake, police said Blake was a suspect in multiple offences.

Police said that they are not ruling out that Blake was killed the same morning as Singh.

Singh, 38, was found dead in the yard of his home at about 4 am on Monday.

Police were told that two men were seen fleeing the scene in Singh’s vehicle.
