Several people have been interviewed into the firebombing incident in which a police sergeant was the victim on Saturday night as investigations continue.

According to a police report, at about 10 pm Sgt Curtis Howard, who is assigned to the Cunupia CID, parked and secured a motor vehicle registration PCX 9557 a beige coloured Hyundai Elantra valued $85,000 owned by Ayanna Snaggs along the roadway outside of his home at Corner of Emerald and Mahogany Avenue Couva North Couva and went to bed.

At about 4 am on Sunday Howard was awakened by a loud noise and upon checking he observed the said vehicle on fire.

Police and fire services were contacted and the fire was extinguished.

PC Bowen and officers of the Centra Division Task Force area south visited the scene made checks and interviewed several people. PCs Ramdial and Naipaul also visited the scene and processed it.

Investigators have obtained CCTV footage and are currently looking into it.
