One person was arrested and charged and two vehicles which were reported stolen recovered, by officers of the Northern Division during a joint divisional exercise within the Northern and Eastern Divisions conducted on Friday 20th March, 2020.
The exercise was coordinated by Ag. Senior. Supt. Sheldon David and supervised by Sgt. Ammon and included members of the Tunapuna Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and officers of Eastern Division Emergency Response Patrol (ERP).
According to reports, after receiving several reports of larceny and robbery of motor vehicles in the Tunapuna district, officers conducted extensive enquires and road check exercises along the Valencia Old Road.
This led to four men being held in a white Nissan B13 along the Valencia Stretch and the recovery of two vehicles, a silver Nissan B14, PBM 8137, stolen on 17th March, 2020 in the Tunapuna district and a white Nissan B13 bearing registration plates PDE 8334.
Three of the suspects were released pending further inquiries.
The other suspect Daniel Joseph Camacho, 22, of Savory Street, St Joseph, appeared before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie in the Tunapuna Magistrates’ Court charged with receiving stolen property.
