A Princes Town man pleaded guilty to charges of possession of firearm and ammunition when he appeared before a Princes Town Magistrate yesterday. Ronnie Mohammed, 41, of Lothians Road, Princes Town, appeared before Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine, in the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court yesterday to answer to the charges. He was fined $20,000 or in default, faces 12 months hard labour. According to police reports, officers of the Princes Town Criminal Investigations Department (CID), executed a search warrant at the Lothians Road, Princes Town, home of a male suspect on June 11th. The search resulted in officers finding a pistol loaded with a magazine containing ten rounds of ammunition under a pillow in a bedroom of the house. The suspect who was in the house at the time of the exercise was arrested in connection with the find. Mohammed was charged by PC Basdeo of the Princes Town CID, on Thursday 11th June, 2020.
A 20-year-old man currently is warded in a serious condition at the Eric Williams Medical Complex, after an attempt was made on his life.
