Jason Williams holds up a sign that says “I will not litter” outside Woodford Square, Knox Street, Port-of-Spain yesterday after he was ordered to do so by a Port-of Spain Magistrate.

Laventille resident Jason Williams, 45, began his punishment for littering yesterday as he was seen holding a sign, which read “I will not litter” outside the Port-of-Spain City Corporation.

Williams was instructed by Magistrate Indar Jagroop from the Port-of-Spain Magistrate’s Third Court to hold the sign for three hours for the remainder of the week.

He was also bonded for one year to keep the peace.

It all stemmed from him being charged with littering, disorderly behaviour, obscene language and making threats to police officers after he was allegedly seen throwing a bottle of water on the ground along Independence Square by Municipal Police.
