Thirty-four Venezuelans who were intercepted on Monday in the Cedros area, will be repatriated to Venezuela sometime this week.
They were caught by police officers of the South Western Division (SWD) and officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG).
The group of immigrants—comprising 19 men, 11 women and four children—were intercepted on-board a 25-foot fishing pirogue by officers of the TTCG who were on border patrol, at 4:40 pm on Monday 12th October 2020.
They were taken into custody and processed.
The detainees currently are at the Cedros Coast Guard base.
The TTPS is reminding citizens to continue to report information on any illicit activities and suspected illegal immigrants via the police 555 hotline.
