RHONDOR DOWLAT-ROSTANT

The search is on for two gunmen who robbed two people of over $30,000 mere minutes after the victims had left a bank in Arima.

According to a police report, at about 3 pm on Tuesday (22 December 2020), the victims had just completed transactions at a bank and were on their way to another destination when they made a quick stop.

Police said a silver Toyota Axio pulled alongside them along the Tumpuna Road and two men with guns exited it and announced a hold up.

The men then robbed the two victims of money bags—one contained TT$30,000 and the other US$4,000.  The gunmen then re-entered the Toyota and drove off.

The victims returned to their vehicle and made their way to the police station where they lodged a report.

Investigations are continuing.
