UNC candidate for Barataria/San Juan, Saddam Hosein during a walkabout on Don Miguel Road in Barataria.

The UNC General Elections Campaign 2020 was focused on issues and plans to get Trinidad and Tobago working again rather than the PNM’s baseless, mudslinging campaign. It was a campaign driven through sound economic policies and a diversification strategy to ensure the fiscal survivability of our nation.

I wish to thank the people of Barataria/ San Juan for placing their confidence and electing me as their Member of Parliament. The line-up of UNC candidates in this election reflected the vision of the Political Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC by fusing the young fresh faces with the experienced members. She ensured that this generation of young leaders was given an opportunity to make decisions for their future.

Kamla Persad-Bissessar has ensured that the young people of the party have a place and space in the Parliament. In this instance an opportunity was given to me at age 29 to contest the marginal seat of Barataria/ San Juan. This signifies the trust, confidence and commitment she has placed in the youth.

As the elected Member of Parliament of Barataria/ San Juan, I support and commend Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar to continue as the Leader of our great party. Her conviction and faithfulness to the people of T&T is unshaken which serves as inspiration.
