Two security officers were commended by their company– TAMIM Security Agency Limited for rendering assistance to Venezuelan national Estefany Marcano who went into childbirth at the car park of the Couva District Health Facility on Monday.

The two officers, Sharlan Hypolite and Marina Sewlal, who were stationed at the hospital, were given tokens of appreciation by their company.

Chief executive officer of the company Swayne Solomon told Guardian Media said, “We were put in a situation where we needed to go beyond the call, she came in almost to the point of delivery and the officers responded out of motherly love and passion to serve and from the time she arrived in the car the child was already out, my officers quickly got their safety gloves and so on and assisted with the delivery and then the doctors at the facility took over.

Marcano and her baby boy, Deylan were also present at the small ceremony at the security company in Waterloo, in Carapichaima, yesterday.

She said she was thankful. The company also presented Estefany with a hamper of baby supplies.

Solomon added: “Once again we are going beyond the call to serve and reaching out to Estefany to congratulate her on her healthy newborn baby, not only for the officers’ action to assist but to assist her in these tough times we are in due to the pandemic.
