Police seized a security officer’s service shotgun after it accidentally fired while he was on duty at a supermarket in Gasparillo.

Guardian Media understands that no one was injured and there was no damage to property.

Reports are the 67-year-old officer, who is employed with Promoter Security Services Ltd., was on duty at Rue Sheng Supermarket at Parforce Road, Bonne Aventure, Gasparillo on Wednesday.

According to a report, around 3:30 pm, a cord attached to his security identification badge got entangled with the trigger of his service shotgun, causing it to discharge in the direction of the ground.

Officers from the Gasparillo Police Station responded and seized the security officer’s Escort 12-gauge shotgun, which was loaded with six rounds of 12 gauge ammunition at the time.
