Six people, including three police officers and three civilians, were injured in an accident in Barrackpore Monday afternoon.
Police reports say that around 2.30 pm three officers were in a police vehicle heading west along Rochard Douglas Road.
While overtaking a parked vehicle on the southern side of the road, the police vehicle reportedly collided with a silver Nissan B 15 driven by Christopher Charles.
The police vehicle then spun out of control and collided with Asha Dass, 44, a housewife who was opening the gate for her husband to drive out of their yard.
Investigators say while the woman was pinned between the police vehicle and her fence, she fell unconscious. She awoke a few minutes later and complained about back and head pains. She could not move her left foot.
Police said all of the injured people including Charles’s passenger Anthony Gonzales were taken for treatment at the Princes Town Health Facility. Their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
Officers of Barrackpore police were on the scene and are investigating.
