Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, has congratulated all the mothers who gave birth to babies today, Friday 1st January 2021, the first day of the new year.

During his visit to the maternity ward at the San Fernando General Hospital, Minister Deyalsingh greeted the new mothers, three of whom gave birth to this country’s first three New Year’s Day babies.

●   Asha Dookie gave birth to a baby boy weighing 2.73 kg, at 12:06am

●   Kerlise Farraday gave birth to a baby girl weighing 2.8 kg, at 1:45 am

●   Jacinta Williams gave birth to a baby boy weighing 3.08 kg, at 2:49 am

Minister Deyalsingh also used the opportunity to announce New Year’s Day births recorded at other maternity hospitals across the country.

Three baby girls were born between 3 am and 5 am at the Mount Hope Maternity Hospital (3:08 am, 3:39 am and 4:52 am).

Three more baby girls were born between 3 am and 6 am at the Port of Spain General Hospital (3:26 am, 4:16 am and 5:38 am).

Another baby girl was born at 9:08 am at the Sangre Grande Hospital.
